You can find pinot noir being grown all up and down Oregon's Willamette
Valley - and some truly fine bottles are being produced, north and
south. But at the north end of the valley, centered roughly around
Dundee, there are dozens of wineries in close proximity, and every turn
on every road unveils a stunning new vista of rolling hills and tidy
rows.
I passed through the area briefly last week on my way home from
Portland. The scene above somehow just begged to be on a grungy vintage
postcard.
I've still got more shots to process from that day, but here's a few more impressions that I've managed to get uploaded to iStockphoto. (the "postcard" above is also now available on iStock here).
The days of wine and photos laugh and run away like a child at play
Through a meadow land toward a closing door
A door marked "nevermore" that wasn't there before
The lonely night discloses just a passing breeze filled with memories
Of the golden smile that introduced me to
The days of wine and photos and you
(The lonely night discloses) just a passing breeze filled with memories
Of the golden smile that introduced me to
The days of wine and photos and you-oo-oo
Wine, photos, and photos of wine...what more could you want from a blog?
(thanks and apologies to Henry Mancini)
