I'm back from two weeks on Kauai. I hadn't been on vacation for over two years and this was the first time since plunging into self-employment.
Only I can't quite afford to simply not work for two weeks, so the laptop came along for the trip and I put in some time nearly every day. I called it a "working vacation." Someone had to stay in each afternoon while our youngest had her nap anyway, so it didn't work out too bad. I still managed plenty of beach time, body surfing, and consumption of fruity, rum-based concoctions.
And some of the work I did was behind the camera instead of behind the computer, on a couple of photo shoots with some aspiring models who live on the island. These models did a fantastic job and we created a lot of nice images. Now that I'm home I'm busy catching up on some design jobs for clients, but here's a few samples from the shoots that I managed to get processed and uploaded to iStock:
